Melodyne Free Alternative Version

Confirmed POC! It sorta kinda does what they say it will but does it very poorly. It seems they spent way more time making it 'pretty' than making it do what they imply it will do. Definitely not worth the 119 smackers they're asking for it.
The rundown..
1. It's slow on a Dual Core w/ 4 Gigs ram. Took over 20 mins. to process a 3:30 .wav file.
2. I don't need to watch Fireworks while it's processing a file. Probably why it took over 20 mins. to process. A waste of CPU and Video processing power.
3. The 'free' version is crippled so I wasn't really able to fully test the portions of the software I was really interested in.
4. From what I could tell, there was considerable crosstalk between the separated instruments/vocals. There were also seemed to be numerous 'fingerprinting' errors. Again, it was hard to tell due to the crippled features.
5. I would have preferred that the user had the ability to label the identified 'fingerprinted' sections.
6. I don't need to see pretty waves during playback. In fact it's quite annoying.
I've been looking for quite some time for something that would do a relatively good job of isolating instruments/vocals for later processing individually with Melodyne either in correcting tunings, bad notes, or creating midi's to work from. I really had high hopes for the sonic fingerprinting idea. Imagine the possibilities reworking old mixes or live stereo recordings.
I checked out SonicWorx and listened to their demo's. It works pretty well but there's still that background sound of other things that lets you know that the sound was isolated, especially vocals. Considering they're asking $529 I think the processed audio should be pristine. And as mentioned earlier, it's Mac only with no plans of making a widows version.
My opinion? You can do the same thing these softwares will do with the same results and quality using Elevayta's ExtraBoy Pro for $29.95. And it's a real time VST!
